Costs of dental treatment
Although Hair Care, Fashion, Alcohol, Tobacco, Sweets and Computer games, all turn over more money than dental care does, the costs of treatment can still be significant.
NHS Fees:
In 2006 the British Government imposed a new fee scale on NHS Dental Care. It was, by and large, also adopted by the Manx Government.
This was done without consulting the dental profession, and as a result of this, the fees can be very bewildering indeed.
For NHS treatment, the costs involved are displayed in our waiting room and our staff are always happy to further explain them to you.
The full document underpinning NHS charges, can be found here:

Please note: You can have any treatment that is clinically necessary under the NHS contract. If your dentist does not deem treatment clinically necessary, but you still desire it, it may be offered to you under a private agreement.
Under certain circumstances, you may be exempt from charges. If you are not sure whether this applies to you, our staff can help you to find out.
Private Fees:
Each individual Dental Practice establishes the cost of private treatment.
The dentist will discuss the costs with you and will give you a written cost estimate.

Regardless of whether you have private treatment, NHS treatment or a combination of the two, the long-term cost of Dental Care may be difficult to estimate.
The most cost-effective treatment is the one that keeps you healthy!
Not necessarily the one that carries the lowest fee per item!
Our dentists will always try to tailor a treatment plan that will keep you healthy long term.
The treatment plan is entered into your patients records, and our dentists will be happy to discuss it with you, more than once if needs be.
If you have more complex treatment, sometimes involving a combination of private and NHS items of service, you will always be given a treatment plan in writing, specifying the different costs, before the start of the treatment.
It is very important to us that you understand the treatment and the costs involved.
Always ask, if anything is unclear!
