“The Port Erin Dental Practice is a good place to work.
It has to be that way.  I do not for a second believe, that we can treat our patients any better than we treat each other within the practice.
What I do believe, is that it is unworthy of a human being to spend long hours at a job they are not happy with.”

Erik Ahlbom
Practice Owner

We are currently looking for:

We do not have any positions at the moment

Our commitment to our staff

We look after the people who work for us as well as we look after our patients.

Our ambition is, that everybody who works here, do so because they want to.

This is how we compete with other dental practices over very employable professionals and promising trainees.
We also comply with all current legislation in this area.

Pay

The cheque at the end of the month is a very important part of work.

We make sure that everybody who works for us is paid a good, decent salary, close to the mainstream of their respective profession and experience.

We do not compete with pay.

We compete with being supportive, caring and decent.

In the Port Erin Dental Surgery, everybody is paid what they are owed, on time, every time. No messing about.

Dental Nurses

Dental Nursing has (finally!)  been recognized as a profession in its own right.

This means that dental nurses, will have to complete a college program at NVQ level, which takes approximately 18 months part time. Completion of this, together with two years chair side experience qualifies for registration with the General Dental Council.

During the time it takes to complete the college course, you can work as a trainee dental nurse.
We give our student dental nurses extensive support during this time.
The college course is demanding, and although not compulsory, it is helpful if you have at least O-levels.

Dental nursing is demanding, requires good people skills and can be stressful at times, but it can also be very rewarding. You work in a tight-knit team and you help other people in a very significant way.

Dental Hygienists

Dental Hygienists often start their careers as Dental Nurses. Two years full time studies are required, after which you can seek registration with the General Dental Council.

Dentists

Our associate dentists all have BDA approved contracts that are open to scrutiny.
We encourage all our associates to seek BDA membership.

The contracts are strictly adhered to, and just like staff, dentists are paid what they are owed, on time, every time. No messing about.
